Maintenance Technician I - 3rd Shift

A growing and vital company, Flex-N-Gate provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals.The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting general installation, maintenance, and repairs of all company machinery and equipment within the facility, including any maintenance or repairs of the building or property. The Maintenance Technician works in a safe, effective and efficient manner in compliance with the Company policies, procedures and all legislative requirements.Core competencies include communication, focus on working safely, team work, and problem solving.Job duties include complying with safety regulations, performing preventative maintenance, inspecting areas of the facility, reading and interpreting equipment manuals, detecting faulty operations, being involved in building maintenance, updating and maintaining documentation, supporting department management, adhering to purchasing department policies, completing reports and records, driving company vehicles, painting and decorating, troubleshooting and maintaining electrical components, installing and repairing plumbing fixtures, performing mechanical and preventative maintenance, recognizing safety concerns, and being responsible for snow removal.Requirements include five years in a mechanical/electrical capacity as a tradesman or five years related industrial repair/maintenance experience, high motivation, ability to work independently or as part of a team, ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions, ability to multi-task and establish priorities, ability to independently seek out and suggest downtime reduction activities and projects, responsibility, flexibility and dependability, ability to perform small repairs, knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, possession of a valid driver's license, ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures, highly flexible interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, strong attention to detail, working knowledge of Microsoft computer software, and proven ability to troubleshoot.Work conditions include the physical ability to lift up to 75lb, requirement of safety equipment, working both indoors and outdoors, and exposure to construction sites and industrial machinery.What we offer includes medical, dental, prescription, vision, life and disability insurance; a flexible spending account; 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match; extensive safety training, new hire orientation, continuous learning and development programs and tuition reimbursement; paid holidays and vacation time.
