The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $80,000 - $85,000 based on level of experience plus discretionary bonus. Compliance Coordinator – Role Overview The Compliance Coordinator position requires experience in affordable housing and knowledge of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) compliance guidelines. The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, multitasking ability, coordination of complex situations, work prioritization, deadline management, analytical thinking, customer service, and reliability. Essential Functions Oversee Third Party, SCRIE, and DRIE Programs; assist residents as needed. Run monthly and quarterly EIV reports; comply with all EIV requirements. Submit annual rent increase requests to HPD, NYCHA, DHCR, and DHCR‑E. Update tenant rent and create interims as needed. Process tenant annual recertification, interim, and initial certifications. Complete files from start to finish. Assist with processing Special Claims as needed. Assist Accounting Department with lease adjustments of tenant ledgers. Meet with tenants to discuss concerns related to rent charges determined by recertification(s). Calculate household income and assets while verifying proper allowances and deductions. Process new applications from move‑in to recertification. Create and distribute new income limits. Perform UA analysis. Prepare for MORS and LIHTC audits. Perform Annual AOC reports. Represent the company in a professional manner. Assist staff, Assistant Directors, and Senior Director as needed. Support oversight of and management of compliance‑related issues. Provide organizational and administrative support for the Recert Dept. as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned (e.g., reporting, administrative tasks). Attend routine weekly meetings and disseminate information to teams as applicable. Requirements & Competencies Identify gaps and create improvements. Travel between all boroughs. Teamwork and collaboration. Project management. Competent analytical ability. Self‑motivated. Multi‑tasking and team‑working. Fluent in Spanish to serve residents. Excellent organizational and record‑keeping skills, detail‑oriented, and proactive. Work well with the general public and within a team environment. Administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, sending emails, checking voicemails, etc. Education & Work Requirements Minimum of 3‑4 years of affordable housing experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Knowledge of Section 8, Section 236, and Mitchell LAMA housing programs preferred. Microsoft Office and Internet proficiency. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Office and property‑based work environments. Travel locally up to 50% of the time annually. Work for extended periods reviewing files and documentation.
