About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Weekend Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 AM - 7:30 PM) Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac experience is preferred. RNs are required to titrate drips. Common titratable and/or set rate drips include heparin, insulin, nitro, Cardizem, nicardipine, Lasix, amiodarone, and dobutamine. Description: Unit consists of a total of 32 beds, including 22 stepdown beds and 10 floor beds. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:3 in stepdown and 1:5 or 1:6 on the floor. The unit is staffed with a dedicated charge nurse on each shift and 3 house supervisors available in the building. Clinical associates are available to assist, typically assigned at a ratio of 1:8 when fully staffed. Respiratory equipment available includes NC, CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, and trach to vent services. Tele techs monitor and record tele strips from designated rooms. Self-scheduling is permitted, and block scheduling is generally flexible. Weekend requirements entail working 3-4 weekends per month, with a combination of Fridays and Mondays. Holiday requirements include one evening and one day during designated holidays. Rotational floating to floor assignments may occur as needed. Scrub color is royal blue. Unit-specific orientation is provided.
