26/27 Campus Supervisor

Reports To Principal Position Summary The role of Campus Supervisor is designed to support the school community and instruction by ensuring the safety and well-being of students during both classroom and extracurricular activities. This position focuses on reducing the frequency and severity of incidents that could disrupt the learning environment. The Campus Supervisor actively promotes the principles of restorative justice, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere. Additionally, the supervisor communicates important observations or incidents that may affect the well-being of students, staff, or visitors, contributing to the overall safety and peace of the school community. Responsibilities Ensure a safe and secure campus environment for students, staff, and visitors. Monitor school buildings, grounds, and facilities, maintaining a visible presence throughout the day. Enforce school rules and policies to promote safety and order. Build positive relationships with students and staff to foster trust and cooperation. Supervise and maintain discipline during lunch periods, breakfast, and bus loading/unloading. Patrol campus areas such as hallways, restrooms, parking lots, and classrooms. Respond to safety concerns, reporting incidents and hazardous conditions to administration. Assist with managing student behavior, including escorting students for disciplinary actions when needed. Support students and staff by intervening in potential conflicts and disruptive situations. Monitor campus for unauthorized individuals and ensure campus security. Assist with preventing tardiness and absenteeism through consistent campus patrols. Provide direction and assistance to visitors, ensuring access to authorized areas. Assist in emergency drills and procedures, and support staff during emergencies. Supervise extra-curricular activities and maintain student safety during these events. Participate in staff meetings, training, and workshops to enhance campus safety and effectiveness. Collaborate with local law enforcement when needed and assist students with physical or health-related needs. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Minimum 2 years experience in a security position, ideally working with youth in a school setting Ability to speak Spanish highly desired Effective oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate with various constituencies and to work comfortably with a variety of staff at all levels within the organization Skills Required Ability to compose correspondence and reports using grammatically correct English and accurate spelling and punctuation; formulate, interpret and explain rules, policies and procedures Ability to deal courteously, tactfully, and discreetly with a wide variety of personalities and challenges; exercise sound and independent judgment Ability to demonstrate team building skills; establish and maintain effective working relationships Participate in continuous educational and professional development Ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form with students, parents and staff Must possess a growth mindset and be able to use feedback to refine practice Successful experience working in a collaborative environment; experience working with diverse communities Professional dress required EFC Core Values Connected- We continually work to build trusting relationships among students, families, staff, and the Oakland community at large.
