Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team at East Perry Elementary. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals for students while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of our young learners by providing them with balanced and appealing meal options. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and snacks, in accordance with nutritional guidelines and school menus. Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following health and safety regulations. Assist in menu planning and food purchasing to meet budgetary constraints while ensuring quality and variety. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including proper storage of food and supplies. Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with school staff to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences of students. Keep detailed records of food preparation, safety procedures, and inventory. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge. Foster a positive and engaging dining experience for students and staff. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or relevant certification preferred. Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a school or institutional setting. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students and staff. Ability to lift heavy items and stand for long periods.
