More About Our Team 5A is an acute care medical surgical unit. On a typical day, 5A has 24 patients with a 1:6 nurse/patient ratio and 1:10 CA/nurse ratio. We serve the general population of hospitalized patients with a variety of conditions. The conditions include illnesses, surgery, testing and observation patients. We take care of patients with comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, stroke, renal and psychiatric issues. While caring for our patients is the focus, 5A boasts a strong team environment, improved nurse communication and commitment to SOVAH Health's core values. How You'll Contribute Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN. Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medication. Documents patient care provided. Assists RN with development of plan of care. Assists patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Monitors, documents, and communicates patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and family. Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. What We're Looking For Applicants must have a degree/diploma from a practical nursing school.
