Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to obstetric patients during labor and delivery, ensuring the safety and comfort of mothers and their newborns. This role involves assessing patient needs, monitoring fetal and maternal well-being, and assisting in delivery procedures within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

• Assess pregnant patients upon admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and uterine activity using C-EFM technology.
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and postpartum procedures.
• Administer medications and oversee IV therapies as prescribed.
• Educate and support patients and their families throughout labor and recovery.
• Document patient conditions, interventions, and outcomes accurately.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid RN license in Virginia or valid compact license.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Active certification in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring (C-EFM preferred).
• Proven ability to work rotating weekends and holidays; no call requirement.
• Strong understanding of obstetric protocols and family-centered care practices.
