Central Michigan Trauma/General Surgery NP/PA Locums Job

Clinical Role:

o Seeking a board certified nurse practitioner or physician assistant
o Must have at least one year of post-training Trauma and/or General Surgery experience
o Inpatient position
o No call responsibilities
o Holiday coverage required only if it falls during the scheduled rotation
o Must be able to provide ongoing 7-on/7-off coverage
o One day of orientation required
o Two to three business days of proctoring required
o Minimum of five procedures per procedure type required during proctoring
o Orientation compensation:
? Flat rate of $300 for four hours or less
? Flat rate of $7,000 if orientation exceeds four hours
o Schedule:
? 7 on / 7 off
? 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
? Monday through Sunday
o One APP needed for ongoing coverage including:
? June 23-28
? July 6-12
? July 20-26
? August 3-9
? August 17-23
? August 31-September 6
? September 14-20
? September 28-October 5
o Second APP needed for:
? September 14-20
? September 28-October 5
o EMR: Epic with Dragon dictation

Clinical Responsibilities:
o Manage inpatient admissions and consults for:
? Trauma
? General Surgery
? Urology
o Respond to Level I and Level II trauma activations
o Perform admissions, H&Ps, and consultations
o Serve as hospital-wide first call for inpatient surgical services including:
? General Surgery
? Trauma
? Orthopedics
? Urology
? Colorectal Surgery
o Board surgical cases
o Evaluate trauma and general surgery consults and discuss with the on-call surgeon
o Manage urology admissions and consults
o Assist with bedside urologic procedures as needed
o Troubleshoot Foley catheters and continuous bladder irrigation
o Must be proficient with:
? Suturing
? Central line placement
? Arterial line placement
? Tube placement

Required Experience & Certifications:
o Trauma and General Surgery experience required
o ACLS certification required
o ATLS certification required
o All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association
o Minimum of 50 applicable case logs within the past 12 months
o Active Michigan license required

Credentialing:
o Typically 30 days
o Applications prioritized based on start date needs
