Must be certified and licensed in the state of Michigan. Early childhood experience preferred. Knowledge of IDEA and Michigan Guidelines. Job Responsibilities: Complete comprehensive evaluations of students in response to special education referrals. Participate in educational planning and consultation in the schools. Provide speech and language services to special education students as assigned on the IEP. Effectively communicate, consult, and team with parents, staff, agencies and others. Perform appropriate action in response to referrals of special education students. Adhere to West Ottawa's policies, procedures and practices. Complete assigned responsibilities within agreed-upon or established timelines. Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional development meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Reaching : Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Lifting : Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
