Responsibilities Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and assure proper file identification on all images Demonstrate competency performing all radiographic procedures and the operation of all related equipment Greet patients, obtain history, and enter information in the computer system Perform x-rays at optimal quality Demonstrate patient care; make sure to protect patients as best as possible from excessive radiation Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly Operate and maintain imaging equipment in a safe and effective manner Review images to ensure quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of information Follow proper safety protocols and adhere to radiation protection guidelines Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine preferred. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist)® certified & NY State license in Radiologic Technology. One to four years of experience in a general radiologic technologist preferred.
