Job Description:

Responsibilities:


- Meet the expectations of the One CHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Deliver nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families at your level of practice.
- Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and educate patients, family members, and caregivers while identifying issues and resources.

Job Requirements:


- Education/Skills:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.


- Experience:
- 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.


- Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
- Current BLS certification required (AHA only).
- Current ACLS certification required (AHA only).
- Current PALS certification required (AHA only).
- Current TNCC certification required.
- RN License in the state of TX or compact.

Position Requirements:


- All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
- New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member.
- Initial onboarding requirements validated through successful completion of organizational entry competency validation and department-specific competency validation.
- Participation in a residency program or specific orientation for newly licensed RNs is encouraged.
- Competency completion will be documented through program tracking software.
