The Truck Technician will specialize in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty trucks, operating primarily as a solo technician. This role requires proficiency in vehicle diagnostics, system troubleshooting, and quality inspections, often utilizing OEM and third-party diagnostic software as well as manual methods. The technician must ensure safety compliance and perform preventive maintenance, with occasional travel to various job sites. Availability for on-call emergency repairs is also a key aspect of this position.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle diagnostics and system troubleshooting on heavy-duty trucks
- Conduct repair maintenance and parts replacement to ensure optimal truck function
- Carry out quality inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Calibrate equipment and manage tools effectively
- Use OEM and third-party diagnostic software alongside manual diagnostic techniques
- Travel occasionally to different job sites as required
- Provide on-call support for emergency repairs
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in truck maintenance
- Technical diploma in Diesel Mechanics or a related field
- Expertise in diesel engine repair, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Knowledge of brake systems and preventive maintenance practices
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and OEM software
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Effective communication skills
