Job Title: Plumbing Foreman Job Description

This role leads plumbing construction and installation projects from layout through final completion, ensuring high-quality workmanship, strict adherence to safety and company procedures, and on-time delivery. You will coordinate material orders, supervise field crews, and maintain a strong focus on precision work, particularly in copper and cast iron systems, while fostering a productive and professional team environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lay out plumbing work for construction and installation projects, including branch lines, shower lines, gas lines, drain lines, sewer lines, and septic lines.

• Order and coordinate all necessary materials, tools, and supplies to keep projects on schedule and within scope.

• Lead, supervise, and support plumbing crews in the field, ensuring team members understand tasks, priorities, and safety requirements.

• Conduct regular safety talks and enforce all safety standards, including OSHA and site-specific requirements.

• Ensure all work complies with company procedures, project specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.

• Install and oversee installation of No Hub, copper, cast iron, PVC, and PEX piping systems for plumbing and gas applications.

• Perform and supervise brazing and soldering of copper pipe, including hot water lines, copper lines, and pro press systems.

• Manage plumbing/fire protection piping work and plumbing design elements as required by project scope.

• Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents to accurately lay out work and guide crews.

• Coordinate and execute plumbing construction and finish plumbing, including sinks, showers, plumbing fixtures, and copper finish work.

• Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and aesthetics, ensuring copper and pipe work is treated like artwork and completed correctly the first time.

• Maintain a production-oriented, high-paced workflow by staying actively engaged, requesting additional tasks when current work is completed, and eliminating downtime.

• Promote a positive, team-focused work culture by modeling professionalism, humility, and openness to feedback.

• Support project deadlines by adjusting to early start times, working overtime when needed, and maintaining excellent attendance.

• Ensure all crew members follow site rules, including no phones, no earbuds, and no standing around while on the job.

• Use appropriate measurement tools and hand tools to perform precise layout and installation work.

• Collaborate with project stakeholders as needed to address issues, clarify plans, and maintain project momentum.

Essential Skills

• Strong experience in plumbing construction and plumbing installation across residential or commercial projects.

• Hands-on expertise with No Hub systems, copper plumbing, cast iron plumbing, PVC, and PEX installations.

• Proficiency installing and working with branch lines, shower lines, drain lines, sewer lines, gas lines, and septic lines.

• Advanced skills in brazing and soldering copper pipe, including hot water lines, copper lines, and pro press connections.

• Experience with plumbing/fire protection piping and plumbing design elements.

• Ability to perform finish plumbing and copper finish work, including sinks, showers, and plumbing fixture installations.

• Proven ability to lay out work accurately and read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.

• Demonstrated experience supervising crews and managing field teams on active job sites.

• Strong commitment to safety and ability to deliver effective safety talks and enforce safety procedures.

• OSHA 62 SST certification.

• F60 certification.

• G60 certification.

• Ability to work in a production-oriented, fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality standards.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality, with the ability to work early start times and overtime as needed.

• Strong teamwork, communication, and feedback-receptive mindset, with no tolerance for ego or confrontational behavior.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in dense urban environments and multi-location projects.

• Prior experience as a finishing plumber or plumbing foreman leading multiple crews.

• Familiarity with strict client standards and working under close oversight and high expectations.

• Comfort working with plumbing fixture work, including detailed finishing and punch list completion.

• Interest in ongoing professional development, including new safety certifications and technical training.

• Ownership of a Plumbing Journeyperson-level set of hand tools, PPE, and measurement tools.

• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship, especially in copper and visible finish work.

• Desire to build a long-term career rather than a short-term job, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Work Environment

Work takes place across multiple boroughs, including Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx, and you must be comfortable traveling by car or public transportation to various job sites. The client is highly demanding, with strict expectations for perfect attendance, continuous productivity, and high-quality results. You are expected to stay actively engaged at all times, ask for additional tasks when you complete your current work, and avoid any standing around. Use of phones, earbuds, or air pods while working is not permitted. The culture emphasizes teamwork, humility, and professionalism, with no tolerance for ego, attitude, or confrontational behavior, and a strong expectation that you accept feedback well. Work is production-oriented and high pace, with early start times typically between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., and standard shifts running roughly from 7:00 a.m. to between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., with overtime available. You must provide and maintain your own tools, PPE, and measurement tools appropriate for a plumbing journeyperson. The company expects you to treat copper and pipe work like artwork, aiming for precise, first-time-right installations so that finished walls never need to be reopened.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
