Job Title: RN - Neonatal ICU Profession: RN Specialty: Neonatal ICU Duration: 8 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years of strong Level 3 and/or Level 4 NICU experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Comfort in a high acuity, fast-paced environment Description: We are seeking a dedicated RN for the Neonatal ICU. The facility has 247 licensed beds and is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and a Teaching Hospital. The Neonatal ICU consists of 53 beds plus overflow, with an average patient census of 58. Patient types include those with respiratory, cardiac, neuro, GI/GU/musculoskeletal/endocrine conditions, among others. Common diagnoses include Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn, Congenital Heart Defects, Seizures, Necrotizing Enterocolitis, and more. Patient ratios vary based on acuity, ranging from 1:1 to 1:3. Required skills include experience with EPIC, EVDs and invasive line management. The candidate should be proficient in critical care vasoactive drip titration and aseptic techniques. Experience with ventilator and trach management, dietary feeding tube management, and bedside procedures is essential. Unit support includes a resource nurse and intensivist available 24/7, along with unit-based educators. The unit values teamwork, trust, accountability, and compassion. There is a weekend rotation requirement, including 2 Fridays and 2 Mondays, plus every other weekend. Holidays will also be scheduled as required. Travelers should have limited RTO needs and may float to similar units. Dress code includes solid navy or white attire, fitting within sector guidelines. The unit follows a 'Bare Below Elbow' practice and maintains an open-minded, flexible culture.
