Job Title

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule | 1 major and 1 minor holiday minimum required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed all-private telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 for telemetry patients and 1:5 for Med/Surg patients (mixed teams maintain a 1:4 ratio)
• Care for a diverse patient population including acute/chronic medical conditions, post-surgical patients (including bariatrics and total joints), urology, GYN, podiatry, general surgery, stroke patients, and potential oncology patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms independently using GE telemetry monitors; NIHSS assessment skills required
• Manage set-rate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin (no titration required)
• Uphold evidence-based practices including bedside shift report, intentional hourly rounding, and medication teaching inclusive of side effects
• Participate in shift huddles at 0700 and 1900; adhere to strict attendance and punctuality standards

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of California
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a telemetry or Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Ability to independently read and interpret all cardiac rhythms
• Comfort working with post-surgical populations including bariatric and total joint patients

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner electronic health records
• Familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP management in coordination with respiratory therapy and physician orders
• Experience in a fast-paced unit with high admission and discharge volume
