Job ID: 299025 Location: Augusta University Full/Part Time: Full Time Job Summary The Division of Infectious Diseases at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University seeks a clinically-oriented, ABIM‑board‑certified academic faculty member at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor. The role emphasizes clinical care, education, and scholarly activity in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Opportunities for teaching house staff, fellows, and physician extenders, as well as for clinical research based on experience and expertise, are available. This position does not fulfill tenure‑track requirements. Responsibilities Develop a robust outpatient infectious disease practice. Staff one‑two (1‑2) half days per week at the nearby practice sites and serve as clinical teacher at the fellow’s clinic as needed (approx. 40%). Participate in inpatient infectious disease consult services. Adjust other clinical duties during inpatient service periods when possible (approx. 20%). Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Engage in scholarly activities including publication of case reports, review articles, and original scientific reports (approx. 20%). Participate in night and weekend call schedules. Similar to colleagues (approx. 15%). Provide telemedicine to off‑site outpatient clinics. (approx. 5%). Required Qualifications MD, DO, or equivalent from an accredited institution; active license to practice in Georgia or meet eligibility requirements. Assistant Professor: Early‑career faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training. Associate Professor: Mid‑career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Professor: Senior‑career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) institutional accreditation requirements. Evidence of teaching ability. Evidence of scholarly activity and competence in all other duties assigned. Successful experience, waived for new entrants meeting all other requirements. Desirable personal qualities assessed in interview, biographical data, and recommendations. Shift, Salary & Benefits The position is fiscal‑year based and works year‑round with a full‑time equivalent (FTE) of 1.0. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to availability of funds for each academic rank.
