Job Overview:

We are currently looking for a Lead Cook who is quick, organized, and can handle all aspects of food preparation. The responsibilities include keeping food preparation areas clean, grilling, cooking, and frying foods, taking orders, serving dishes to customers, and ordering and stocking kitchen and food supplies.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Prior cooking experience in a healthcare facility
• Knowledge of food production, service and sanitation
• Position may require work every other weekend depending on department's needs

Preferred:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Culinary Degree or Certification,
• Serv Safe Certified
• Prior experience in food service
• Knowledge of food production, service and sanitation

Scheduling Requirements

• Full-Time: 37.5hrs.
• Shift: Day
• Time: (7:00am-3:00pm)

Essential Functions:

• Complete tasks as outlined in the job flow for daily position assigned
• Retrieve, prep and prepare items according to the daily production sheets and recipes
• Follow all HACCP guidelines for food and physical safety,
• Prepare food for patients and others using a variety of production tools, techniques and equipment
• Ensures meal service demands are met. Maintains a sanitary work environment
• Take customer orders and prepare food to their specifications
• Grill, cook, and fry foods
• Plan and manage work orders to ensure all items of an order are finished and served at the same time
• Grill and garnish hamburgers and other meats
• Perform simple food preparation tasks, such as slicing up meats and vegetables
• Complete orders from steam tables, plate the food, and serve to the customers
• Order supplies and stocking the shelves
• Rotate food and stamp the time and date on the food in the coolers
• Clean food preparation equipment and areas
