Technician

This role focuses on safely uncrating, moving, and positioning industrial machinery and materials within a large battery manufacturing facility. You will work as part of a team to unload equipment from trailers and containers, relocate it across the production floor, and perform physically demanding tasks using both manual and powered tools. The position requires consistent attention to safety, detail, and proper handling procedures in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment.

• Unload and load cargo from trailers and shipping containers using manual or powered material handling equipment.
• Uncrate, crate, unpack, pack, and move cargo and machinery using manual and powered hand tools, material handling equipment, and other appropriate tools.
• Relocate and roughly set equipment and cargo in designated locations on the production floor, ensuring proper placement according to instructions.
• Use manual toe jacks, skates, dollies, pallet jacks, and similar equipment to move heavy machinery and materials safely and efficiently.
• Follow detailed instructions and layout plans to position machinery and equipment accurately on the production floor.
• Perform general labor tasks, including construction-related duties, basic carpentry, and cleaning as required to support equipment installation and movement.
• Assist with securing loads and ensuring that cargo and machinery are properly stabilized during movement and placement.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate equipment moves and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, removing debris and packaging materials after uncrating and installation activities.
• Work extended hours as needed, including occasional overtime on Saturdays, to meet project and production timelines.

• At least 1 year of experience in construction or physical labor-intensive work.
• Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting and sustained physical labor throughout the workday.
• Ability to walk 10 or more miles per day in a large facility.
• Ability to bend, crawl, and walk repeatedly throughout the day to complete assigned tasks.
• Experience using general hand tools and power tools in a construction or industrial environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently.
• Willingness to obtain an OSHA 10 certification if not already held.
• Comfort working in hot, non-climate-controlled environments, both indoors and outdoors.
• Reliability and punctuality for a 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM schedule, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime.

• Current OSHA 10 certification or willingness to complete the certification within a defined timeframe.
• Experience operating forklifts, gradalls, or other lifts is a plus, though not required.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment such as manual skates, dollies, pallet jacks, and manual toe jacks.
• Background in general labor, construction, carpentry, or similar trades.
• Experience performing cleaning and site preparation tasks in an industrial or construction setting.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment.

You will join a team that plays a direct role in supporting advanced battery manufacturing by ensuring critical equipment is safely delivered and positioned on the production floor. The work offers consistent full-time hours with opportunities for overtime, allowing you to build experience in an industrial setting while developing valuable skills in material handling, safety, and equipment movement. You will gain exposure to large-scale manufacturing operations, work with a variety of tools and equipment, and have the chance to grow your capabilities in a hands-on, practical environment.

The role is based in a large battery manufacturing facility of approximately 2 million square feet, where you will perform both indoor and outdoor material moving and equipment handling. The environment is hot and non-climate controlled, requiring comfort working in high-temperature conditions. The schedule typically runs from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime on Saturdays as needed. You will regularly walk long distances, navigate a busy production floor, and work around heavy machinery and industrial equipment. The position involves frequent use of manual and powered hand tools, manual toe jacks, skates, dollies, pallet jacks, and potentially forklifts or other lifts, while following established safety practices and wearing appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment suitable for a construction-style industrial setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of De Soto, KS.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
