Job Title: Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift: 12 hours

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required

License: Current and unexpired nursing license required

Certifications: Basic Fetal Monitoring, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS Certification

Must-Have: Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines, Antepartum, Intrapartum, PostPartum Care, Ability to Circulate and Recover Cesarean Sections preferred

Description:


This position is within the Labor and Delivery unit.

The unit consists of a limited number of beds and OR suites as well as triage and postpartum beds.

The unit averages 80-100 births per year.

Ratios follow established guidelines.

Common diagnoses include Gestational Hypertension, Gestational Diabetes, and Pre-Eclampsia.

RNs will be required to monitor and manage titratable drips such as Oxytocin and Insulin.

Charge nurse or house supervisor responsibilities are included.

OB/Neonatologist support is available 24/7.

The unit is equipped with CPAP, BiPAP, and Vent equipment.

Telemetry monitoring is available, and nurses can read strips.

The electronic fetal monitoring system utilized is GE Centricity.

Shifts may require weekend work, with every other weekend required.

Holidays will require availability on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

There is a call requirement with 3-4 call shifts in a 6-week schedule.

Scrubs will be provided on-site.

Unit-specific orientation will be provided intradepartmentally.
