Our manufacturing client is seeking a Buyer to support day-to-day purchasing and supply chain activities on a contract basis, with the potential to convert to a full-time role. This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials and components are available to support production schedules while maintaining cost and supplier performance expectations.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials and components are available to support production schedules while maintaining cost and supplier performance expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Execute purchasing activities for raw materials, components, and indirect spend
  • Create, manage, and track purchase orders within the ERP/MRP system
  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing activities to align with demand
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, and delivery commitments
  • Address delivery issues, shortages, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies
  • Partner with Planning, Production, and Operations teams to support manufacturing needs
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier documentation
  • Assist with sourcing, cost-reduction, and process improvement initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Buyer or purchasing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience working within an ERP/MRP system (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, JD Edwards, NetSuite, Plex, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes and inventory management
  • Proficiency in Excel and basic reporting
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Required Skills
