Variant Assessment Scientist I- Cardiology (REMOTE, USA)

Ambry Genetics seeks a Variant Assessment Scientist to analyze diagnostic molecular genetic test results and provide clinical interpretation of cardiology-related variants. The role involves literature review, variant classification, and collaboration with internal and external medical professionals in a remote setting across multiple U.S. states.

Responsibilities

• Write and interpret molecular test results with relevant medical literature reviews
• Evaluate published literature, clinical data, and functional or in silico data for variant interpretation
• Participate in updating variant classification guidelines and developing gene-specific protocols
• Research and develop novel approaches to assess sequence variants
• Train new variant assessment and clinical team members

Requirements

• PhD or MD in molecular genetics, human genetics, molecular pathology, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience with variant assessment and reporting
• Thorough knowledge of human genetics principles and current theories
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments
• Cardiology experience preferred
• Industry experience preferred

Compensation: $100,000-$112,000
