Diesel Mechanic

The Diesel Mechanic will perform diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on diesel-powered heavy construction equipment, dump trucks, and paving machinery. The ideal candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently on a wide range of equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on diesel-powered equipment and vehicles
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on dump trucks, paving machines, excavators, loaders, dozers, rollers, and other heavy construction equipment
• Maintain accurate service records and logs
• Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brake systems, fuel systems, and other components
• Work with equipment operators and project managers to ensure timely repairs and maintenance
• Order necessary parts and maintain inventory
• Maintain a clean and organized shop environment
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a diesel mechanic working with heavy equipment and trucks
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools
• Experience working on paving equipment is strongly preferred
• Must have your own tools
• CDL (Class B or higher) is preferred but not required
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High school diploma or GED required; technical training is a plus

Pay: $28-33/hr plus full benefits.
