Diesel Mechanic
The Diesel Mechanic will perform diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on diesel-powered heavy construction equipment, dump trucks, and paving machinery. The ideal candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently on a wide range of equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on diesel-powered equipment and vehicles
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on dump trucks, paving machines, excavators, loaders, dozers, rollers, and other heavy construction equipment
- Maintain accurate service records and logs
- Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brake systems, fuel systems, and other components
- Work with equipment operators and project managers to ensure timely repairs and maintenance
- Order necessary parts and maintain inventory
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a diesel mechanic working with heavy equipment and trucks
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools
- Experience working on paving equipment is strongly preferred
- Must have your own tools
- CDL (Class B or higher) is preferred but not required
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training is a plus
Pay: $28-33/hr plus full benefits.
