Radiation Therapist - Rockford, IL

Seeking a skilled professional with expertise in Radiation Therapy to support patient care in a contract role. This position requires a well-rounded Radiation Therapist with a strong commitment to quality treatment and compassionate service.


Key Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
• Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy
• Valid state license as required
• Recent experience as a Radiation Therapist in a clinical or hospital setting
• Excellent communication skills and a strong patient-centered approach
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other oncology staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Administer radiation treatments according to physician prescriptions, set protocols, and safety standards
• Verify patient identification, check treatment parameters, and maintain accurate records
• Operate linear accelerators and related radiation therapy equipment safely and skillfully
• Educate patients on the treatment process, addressing questions and concerns
• Monitor patient responses and report any changes to the medical team promptly
• Maintain compliance with infection control and safety policies
• Participate in quality assurance procedures and department meetings
