POSITION TITLE: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Full-Time/Night Swing Shift)

SIGN-ON BONUS: Up to $20,000 Available

SHIFT: Night/Swing Shift (3 PM / 5 PM / 7 PM)

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time

FACILITY TYPE: 18-Bed Small-Format Hospital (8 ER, 10 Inpatient)

Position Overview

The primary role of this position is to execute the essential functions of a nurse by assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care in the Emergency Room.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, and deliver proficient nursing care that is age-specific and tailored to developmental and specialty needs, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Accurately document medical records in a clear and concise manner.
• Monitor and record patient signs, symptoms, and behaviors, including physiological status.
• Propose modifications to interventions and desired outcomes.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Follow physician orders in the provision of nursing care.
• Collect laboratory samples and conduct lab tests in line with established policies and regulations.
• Adhere to infection control protocols, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques.
• Manage admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
• Engage in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures, assisting with procedures as needed, while complying with legal and facility policies.

Additional Responsibilities

• Conduct all assigned Quality Assessment activities and document findings.
• Participate in staff meetings or other required organizational gatherings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of full-time RN experience in an Emergency Room or similar setting is required.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association are necessary; ENPC certification from ENA may substitute for PALS; TNCC certification is preferred.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required.

Must have completed Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) within the last five years, or these must be obtained prior to the start date.
