Litigation Attorney | Tampa, FL | $125,000 to $180,000 | Construction Defect
Have you got what it takes to succeed The following information should be read carefully by all candidates.
Fourteen parties. Six experts. One leaking window system. And a scheduling order that assumes everyone will agree on something.
If you defend construction defect cases in Florida, you know that file. You probably have three of them open right now. The real question is whether you're handling them somewhere that gives you room to do it well.
I'm Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment. I'm hiring a construction defect defense attorney for a Tampa team at a Florida insurance defense firm. It starts hybrid, with part of the week in the Tampa office while you get to know the team and the files. Once you're settled, there's the option to go fully remote. And nobody counts your green dots on Teams.
What sits on your desk:
• Defense of general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and design professionals
• Condo, HOA, multifamily and commercial projects
• Tenders, additional insured issues, cross claims and expert management
• Your own files, start to finish, with partner support when you want it
The terms:
• Hybrid to start in Tampa, with the option to go remote once you're settled
• 1,900 billable hours
• $125,000 to $180,000. The band is generous at both ends for a reason: it reaches from a capable mid level up to counsel level
• Florida Bar required
• 2+ years of construction defect defense. This is for lawyers who already speak CD fluently, not general litigators looking to switch
A fair word on that remote option. Bad remote setups leave you isolated and stuck on the dull files. Then you're forgotten at review time. This seat is set up to avoid that. The office time at the start is where you build the relationships that make remote work later. You get regular time with the partners you work for, real files rather than doc review, and a clear line to more responsibility as you prove yourself.
If you've wondered whether you can run a serious CD practice without a five day commute, this is worth twenty minutes.
