Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Clinical Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of IMCU experience required, Telemetry experience required, Cardiac Drip experience required License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: 2+ years of IMCU experience required Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who coordinates patient care delivery by the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems. The RN develops and implements an individualized plan of care and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for patients by utilizing knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment. The RN assists patients to transition through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to healthcare personnel based on each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee. The RN's role is essential in both inpatient and outpatient departments with 24x7 staffing. Key Responsibilities: The RN conducts accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards. The RN identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs. The RN develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing plan of care and modifies the plan to meet clinical outcomes. The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. The RN supports evidence-based practice changes through research utilization. The RN creates a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and their families. The RN develops therapeutic relationships with patients while maintaining appropriate boundaries. The RN recognizes and incorporates unique differences into an individualized plan of care. The RN preserves and protects the confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights of patients and families. The RN facilitates learning for patients, families, and other members of the health care team. The RN collaborates with colleagues to develop and implement an integrated plan of care. The RN uses available resources for problem-solving related to patient care. The RN participates in shared governance and decision-making processes. The RN contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues. Key Success Factors: Understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures. Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing nursing care. Familiarity with medical terminology and principles of health promotion.
