Sr. Construction Manager - Healthcare Buildings We're looking for an experienced and collaborative Construction Manager- Healthcare Buildings who thrives when people are in sync and projects are running not just on time but within budget. Based at a client site in the Austin area, reporting directly to the Program Manager and working alongside other project managers, you’ll be responsible not only for the overall project delivery, but also for the management of the project development from conception through completion in accordance with program objectives. You’ll manage and provide construction oversight to OARs and resolve complex construction project related issues, disputes and disagreements. As the onsite Owners Representative, you’ll be responsible for ensuring not only the progress and technical performance of a project, but also the material management, schedule, cost, scope and safety of the team. Program and Project Leadership Oversee major healthcare construction projects from pre-construction to final turnover, serving as the primary liaison between stakeholders. Oversee daily construction activities to ensure full compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a strong onsite presence to track progress, validate work in place, and proactively resolve field issues. Support development and review of construction schedules, look‑aheads, critical path items, and sequencing strategies. Lead site logistics planning, including access/egress, material deliveries, site controls, shutdowns, and operational impacts. Monitor contractor performance, manpower, sequencing, and workmanship; elevate and drive corrective actions as needed. Review and manage RFIs, submittals, field changes, and technical clarifications to maintain project continuity. Validate weekly field progress against the contractor’s schedule and support recovery strategies when delays arise. Enforce safety, environmental controls, and all site‑specific compliance protocols. Conduct regular field walks to verify quality of installation, mock‑ups, testing, commissioning, and system readiness. Coordinate inspections and compliance activities with City agencies, and other authorities having jurisdiction. Lead and facilitate onsite coordination meetings and maintain strong relationships with contractors, designers, inspectors, and facility stakeholders. Provide documentation and reporting support, including daily logs, progress photos, cost/change validation, pay app verification, punch lists, commissioning, and closeout activities. Here’s what you’ll need Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field, or equivalent combination of healthcare and significant related experience. 10+ years of related design and construction project management experience with education or healthcare buildings. Strong working knowledge of pre‑design and pre‑construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management (GMP/ lump sum), project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building. Strong working knowledge in vendor procurements, change order negotiation, budget and schedule management, operational governances, client satisfaction and management. Willing to relocate to Austin area, Texas. Ideally, You’ll Have: Multiple Delivery Methods execution: Design Bid Build, Design Build, Progressive Design Build, Design Assist and Multi. Prime Delivery experience. Large program team leader for at least 5 years, have managed a team of 10 or more and looking to Grow in Your Career. Salary The base salary range for this position is $144,600.00 to $170,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
