Help

As a Security Specialist, at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties:

• Serves as a Security Specialist (Communications Security) Regional Operations Manager responsible for administering and executing the Communication Security (COMSEC) Program.
• Serves as the technical expert for cryptologic requirements for voice (wired and wireless), data connectivity and may serve as the alternate COMSEC account manager for a major account.
• Works within the framework of agency policies and program objectives as prescribed by the Chief Security Officer or Division Director of Security Division.
• Advises the COMSEC Program Manager on all operational aspects of the program in the designated regional area of responsibility.

You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one the following:

Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:

• Enforce program policies and regulations for communication security (COMSEC) programs ensuring compliance with applicable laws, orders, and instructions;
• Ensure accountability within the designated region using program accounting system;
• Prepare regional operations for bi-annual inventories, self-inspections, audits, and security compliance reviews;
• Coordinated the issuance of cryptologic equipment and material issued to program users; OR
• Manage the lifecycle requirements of electronic cryptographic keying material from issuance until retirement.
