4 Day Work Week Pilot (4DWW)

At Winters Healthcare, full-time employees work 32 hours per week with compensation equivalent to a 40-hour schedule, giving employees more time to rest, recharge, and show up fully for our patients.

Hours per week: 32 hours/ week (28 Clinical, 4 admin) = full-time at full salary ($240K-$280K DOE)

Location : Esparto, CA with occasional coverage at our Winters, CA location. 

Opportunity for commitment bonus: Up to $80,000 (based on .8 FTE) from Partnership HealthPlan of CA for a 5-year service commitment (candidate must be new to the 24 PHP county network) 

Loan Repayment: NHSC Loan Repayment Eligible Site for up to $85,000

A Day in the Life of a Physician with Winters Healthcare

 

If you were a Family Physician with Winters Healthcare, you would provide care for our patients with a care team, alongside one of our five care team providers. “Team [ insert your name here ],” includes a compassionate Medical Assistant, a motivating Population Health Coach (PHC), and a designated Patient Service Coordinator (PSC) working side-by-side for your panel of patients. You will work with our Clinical Psychologists for warm hand-offs and other behavioral health consultation and support. To enhance our integrated care teams, and resources for patients, we also have our dental department right across the lobby, as well as an on-site pharmacy.

 

Our services include adult and pediatric primary care, chronic disease management, prenatal care, and minor procedures. Your day will vary from visit to visit: an 18-month-old well-child visit, to a 63-year-old uninsured male with a cough, to a diabetic migrant-seasonal farm worker, or a 25-year-old female coming in with her first pregnancy. Each care team typically sees around 17 – 22 patients in an 8-hour shift, and have patient panels that average around 700. We place emphasis on establishing trusting relationships while being devoted to quality health outcomes and we have the data and measures results to prove it.

 

The ideal candidate is a bilingual (English/Spanish) FM-MD who provides prenatal care up to 36 weeks. Additionally, our ideal candidate enjoys being on a team, making connections, building relationships, and providing health care regardless of one’s insurance or ability to pay. In addition, the ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, and the ability to establish effective, trusting relationships with patients, colleagues and the community. Responsibilities:

• Communicate, collaborate, and work in a team-oriented environment supporting our model of care
• Provide full-scope family medicine, chronic disease management, minor surgeries/procedures, prenatal care (low risk OB), family planning, and reproductive health
• Consult with care teams as needed, and act as supervising physician, providing Medical Doctor oversight for mid-level providers

Qualifications:

• Current MD/DO license to practice in the state of California, as well as valid DEA, and CPR/ACLS/BLS;
• Ability to operate independently, alongside your MA and Population Health Coach
• Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish is preferred (ability to read, write, and speak),
• Board eligible or board certified (within 6 months of hire),
• Strong leadership skills and dedication to serving community health care are essential.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Annual equivalent salary range is $240,000-$280,000 for 32 hrs/week^^ and depends on experience and qualifications.
• Paid Time Off, holidays, Wellness Days (1 per week during pilot), and CME/CEU
• Medical, dental, vision, life insurance - 95% paid for employees, and 70% paid for dependents. 
• $1,500 and 32 hours of CME/CEU allowance, plus full licensure and DEA reimbursement 
• 401K retirement match program - 3% match
• Professional liability insurance includes tail and wrap around coverage
• NHSC Loan Eligible site (Opportunity for up to $55,000 for full-time and up to $30,000 for part-time in loan assistance)
  

Hours:

• 32 hours/week (28 clinical and 4 admin), following completion of 8 week/320 hour Foundational Onboarding Period^^
  • During your initial onboarding period, you may choose between a full-time or reduced schedule as you build your panel and integrate into the care team.
• Tentative schedule is:
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 8am - 5pm, and
  • Thursdays 10am - 7pm. 
    
• We are also open to part-time candidates. Note: working 24 hours or more/ week qualifies for full health insurance benefits.

^^Onboarding Options

Choose the start that works best for you:

• 40 hrs/week for 8 weeks → transition to 32 hrs/week (full salary maintained)
• 32 hrs/week for 10 weeks → start at 0.8 FTE, then increase to full salary
