Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit serving adult to geriatric populations (ages 18 and up)
• Manage IV therapy, NG tubes, tube feedings, PEG tubes, PICC and central line care, catheter care, JP drains, Hemovac drains, and ostomy care
• Deliver post-operative surgical care for patients following total knee and hip replacement, hernia repair, colectomy, and general surgery procedures
• Utilize MedHost EHR and Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, and related equipment in a fast-paced environment with patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1
• Float to step-down unit to support Med/Surg coverage as needed
• Communicate effectively as part of a collaborative, team-oriented care environment with high admission and discharge volume

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with ADN or BSN degree
• ACLS certification required prior to start
• BLS certification required prior to start
• Minimum 2+ years of Med/Surg nursing experience
• Proficiency with IVs, NG tubes, PICC and central line care, catheter care, and post-operative surgical care
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with telemetry monitoring
• Background in stroke care, CHF, COPD, diabetes, dialysis, or A-Fib patient populations
• IV insertion and Foley catheter insertion experience
• Familiarity with tube feeding management
