CILA House Manager

Residential House Manager Department: Residential Status: Full-time At Sertoma Star Services, we empower individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and those living with mental illness to reach their goals and lead fulfilling lives. We serve over 2,000 consumers in South Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana through vocational, educational, therapeutic, and residential programs. Responsibilities Coordinate and manage the overall operations, medical, financial, and maintenance aspects of assigned CILAs. Oversee implementation of personal support plans, behavioral plans, and Sertoma Star Services’ policies and procedures; continuously assess individual needs. Create implementation strategies. Assist individuals with applications and receipt of unearned income sources (e.g., Medicaid, Social Security) and applicable generic services. Facilitate communication for interdisciplinary team members including ISC, Community Day Services representatives, Employment Services, ABA Therapist, family or legal guardians, and neighbors. Maintain working knowledge of individuals’ current medical conditions. Assist with medication management and doctor appointments. Maintain documentation of medical information in accordance with DHS regulations (Rule 116). Interview, hire, evaluate, and provide training and development for high‑quality staff for direct support professional (DSP) positions. Maintain schedules for multiple sites; submit payroll information timely. Act as liaison between individuals, families, and external agencies. Advocate on behalf of people on assigned caseload. Physical Requirements Perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards. Safely lift and carry at least 50 lbs. Safely bend, twist, push, pull, and reach. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Services preferred. At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities. At least one year of supervisory experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to work independently and complete assignments within prescribed routines and accepted practices. BA in social service area of study; QIDP certification preferred. DSP certification preferred. Valid driver’s license and meet agency driving requirements. Ability to wear PPE gear. Preferably have experience in an educational environment.
