Job Details: Location: BHI Bristol Hospital Main Campus – Bristol, CT 06010 Position Type: Part Time Education Level: High School Job Shift: 1st Shift (Days) Responsibilities The Emergency Department Technician (EDT) performs a wide variety of patient care tasks utilizing a Patient Focused Care model, following standardized procedures prescribed in a clinical pathway. The essential responsibilities include: Basic patient care Vital signs monitoring EKG procedures Phlebotomy Patient transport and documentation Communication with the healthcare team and patients Teamwork and collaboration Qualifications (Educational / Minimum Requirements) High school diploma or equivalent (but not necessarily required) Active NA certificate or at least 2 years of experience as a PCA, EDT, or CNA in acute or long‑term care Active BLS – CPR certificate required 3rd‑year BSN student who has completed two clinical rotations Medical Assistant or EMT certification Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements General orientation at time of hire AccuCheck, CPR, Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually, OCL, Over‑Dose Lavage, PERT, Restraint Protocol, 1:1 Observation Protocol Health Care Provider CPR from the American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer CPR by American Red Cross or other similar programs deemed appropriate by management Additional cross‑training as appropriate to perform diverse job duties Successfully complete all training programs as determined by the Hospital Unit‑based competencies and skills as required Special Requirements Successfully complete unit‑based competency package and unit‑specific items.
