About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience. Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips. Experience with post-cardiac procedural care (Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, permanent Pacemaker placements). Ability to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone. Description: This position guarantees 48 hours per week. The unit has 29 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4. Staffing includes a Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and Patient Care Technicians. Equipment includes Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, and various other medical devices. The documentation system used is Meditech. Full-time hours are required, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period. Contract nurses may be floated to any area where they have demonstrated competency. Must align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect. Key responsibilities include responding to call lights, using patients’ preferred names, and providing bedside shift reports. Advanced skills desired include IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, and Foley insertions. The unit has received recognition for quality care. Staff enjoy a family-like atmosphere and many have transitioned to full-time roles after contract completion. The work environment is fast-paced.
