Job Description We are seeking an Application Programmer III to help design, build, and implement a new GenAI platform and business use cases. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, distributed messaging, and large-scale ETL and a proven ability to deliver performant, resilient, and reusable platform capabilities. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and oversee end-to-end implementation of the GM GenAI platform and related business use cases. Develop architectural approaches for AI software and hardware integration with emphasis on quality, performance, resiliency, and reusability. Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand objectives and translate them into technical solutions. Lead cross-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions aligned with business priorities and expectations. Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks across the software development life cycle. Establish standards and drive automation for end-to-end SDLC efficiency. Mentor team members in technical design and development best practices. Drive platform performance, scalability, and resiliency testing. Implement hardware upgrades and software enhancements to meet global performance expectations. Address regulatory and performance-driven requirements for regional and localized infrastructure. Conduct research and prototyping to evaluate and identify new solutions that enhance platform and team capabilities. Monitor AI industry trends and advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science to inform continuous improvement. Required Skills & Qualifications: Expert Python development, including threading, async programming, FastAPI, and object-oriented design. Experience building ETL for large datasets with performance optimizations. Pub/Sub and message bus design and implementation. Kafka or AMPS preferred. Experience working in large teams on shared multi-repo codebases, including VS Code workflows. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills. 7 years of relevant professional experience preferred. Preferred Skills: Experience with platform performance, scalability, and resiliency testing frameworks.
