Position Summary Nurse Practitioner (NP) Fellow is a participant in a 12‑month paid fellowship designed for newly (18 months or less) certified and licensed NPs. The Fellowship program is structured to provide mentored clinical time and dedicated learning opportunities. The NP Fellow will gain broad exposure to primary and integrated mental health care and engage in skills training, didactic seminars, supervised and independent clinical practice, interprofessional education and collaboration, professional development activities, and enhance leadership skills. This one‑year fellowship is full‑time employment as a trainee within UNMC and is designed for NP graduates who aspire to practice in rural and underserved areas of Nebraska. Required Qualifications Education : Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Experience : 1 year License : Current RN license and current APRN licensure and certification as a nurse practitioner by an appropriate national professional organization Computer Applications : Not Applicable Other Computer Applications : Microsoft 365 (Teams, One‑Drive, SharePoint) Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Ability to relate to patients and staff, assess patient needs, provide primary healthcare services, communicate effectively, demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills, knowledge of healthcare policy, Medicare/Medicaid regulations and societal factors affecting primary healthcare delivery, and ability to work independently as well as in a multi‑disciplinary team setting.
