About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse – NICU (12-Hour Nights)

Tacoma, WA | NICU (Level IV)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (1900–0730)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a 70-bed Level IV NICU serving patients from 22 weeks gestation, including premature infants, high-risk deliveries, RDS, NAS, and feeders/growers
• Manage respiratory support including mechanical ventilators (required) , NCPAP, and tracheostomies (highly preferred)
• Perform and manage UAC/UVC lines, PICC lines, G-tubes, and NG/OG tubes
• Administer medications, develop and implement care plans, and coordinate discharge-to-home planning
• Document patient care and assessments using EPIC EMR
• Float to MedSurg or PICU for patients 1 year and under, or serve as Helping Hands as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Level III or Level IV NICU experience
• Active Washington State RN License required
• BLS Certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification required
• Proficiency with respiratory support for mechanically ventilated patients

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers will be considered
• Experience with tracheostomy management
• Experience with surgical NICU patients and/or HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy)
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills
