Maintenance Technician I

This entry-level Maintenance Technician I role offers a hands-on opportunity to perform preventive maintenance in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. You will focus primarily on the mechanical aspects of equipment repairs and troubleshooting while working alongside experienced maintenance professionals. Your work will directly support equipment reliability, minimize production downtime, and ensure safe, compliant operations in a clean, climate-controlled environment. Multiple positions are available across first, second, and third shifts, with schedules typically running Tuesday through Saturday and/or Sunday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Report to the shift supervisor at the start of each shift to receive assigned preventive maintenance work orders.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on production and support equipment in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Prioritize maintenance tasks on equipment that is out of service to ensure rapid turnaround and support production startup schedules.
• Complete all assigned preventive maintenance tasks accurately and within established deadlines.
• Maintain a zero-overdue preventive maintenance status by effectively managing and organizing assigned workload.
• Follow all company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable pharmaceutical industry standards at all times.
• Accurately document completed maintenance activities in maintenance management systems and work orders.
• Utilize basic hand tools and testing equipment, including volt meters, to perform maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• Assist with mechanical repairs and troubleshooting on production and support equipment as needed.
• Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and maintenance personnel to support operational goals and minimize downtime.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in maintenance work areas, ensuring a clean and orderly workspace.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude by learning and applying maintenance practices specific to pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED (education verification required).
• 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, military, facilities, or related environment, or graduation from an accredited technical, vocational, or trade school in a maintenance-related field.
• Basic understanding of preventive maintenance principles and practices.
• Ability to read and use a volt meter safely and effectively.
• Understanding of the differences between standard and metric measurement systems.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with a focus on repair, service, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform mechanical preventive maintenance and repair tasks on industrial or production equipment.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills in an industrial or similar environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions accurately.
• Willingness to learn pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment maintenance and adhere to GMP requirements.
• Capability to work assigned shifts, including first, second, or third shift schedules that may run Tuesday through Saturday and/or Sunday through Thursday.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience performing preventive maintenance in a pharmaceutical, industrial, or highly regulated environment.
• Exposure to maintenance management systems and electronic work order documentation.
• Experience using a variety of basic hand tools and testing equipment for mechanical and electrical tasks.
• Background in mechanical repair, service, or troubleshooting of production or support equipment.
• Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and basic electrical repair concepts.
• Interest in long-term career development in pharmaceutical manufacturing maintenance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production and engineering.

Work Environment

This role is based in an extremely clean manufacturing facility. You will work in controlled manufacturing environments that require the ability to obtain and maintain gown qualification and adhere to strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The facility emphasizes safety, quality, and cleanliness, with clearly defined procedures and standards. Multiple shifts are available, including first, second, and third shifts, typically scheduled Tuesday through Saturday and/or Sunday through Thursday. You will use basic hand tools and testing equipment, including volt meters, while working within a structured maintenance management system. The environment supports teamwork and collaboration among maintenance, production, and engineering teams in a professional, process-driven setting.

Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Cherry Hill, NJ.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $66560.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
