Take on a rewarding part-time contract role making a real impact in a high school student’s daily life. This opportunity is designed for a skilled Registered Nurse who has previous school-based nursing and critical care experience. Working just two days each week—Tuesdays and Thursdays—your expertise will provide invaluable 1:1 support for a male student with complex medical needs, including ventilator and trach management, in a vibrant educational setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois is required
• Previous school nursing experience is essential
• Demonstrated proficiency with tracheostomy care, ventilator management, urinary catheterization, and sip/puff wheelchair assistance
• Ability to provide safe lifting and transfers as needed
• Prior critical care nursing experience highly preferred
• Must present RN license/certification and resume during submission

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 nursing care for a high school student who is a quadriplegic
• Oversee and respond to the student’s ventilator and trach needs
• Administer urinary catheterization and manage related health protocols
• Monitor, assess, and react to any health changes throughout the school day
• Provide dignified support for mobility and transfers
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure a safe and inclusive environment
• Carefully document care activities and health status updates

This contract spans from August 24, 2026, to May 28, 2027, with hours from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, supporting student success in Wheaton, IL.
