Job Title: RN - Labor & Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: Seasonal - Travel Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital Labor & Delivery RN experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM-C or AWHONN Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Minimum 1 year current acute care hospital Labor & Delivery RN experience. BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM-C or AWHONN Description: The unit has 26 beds and a staff of 112. The team consists of a CNC (Team Leader), nurses, surgical technicians, and unit clerks working various shifts. Patient ratios include 1:1 for high-risk labor and C-sections, 1:2 for antepartum, PPROM, and PTL on magnesium, and 1:3 for postpartum patients on magnesium without a baby. The unit is equipped with Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, and CPN (GE) monitors. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech/CPN. Candidates are preferred who have circulating C-section experience and high-risk labor delivery room experience. Typical procedures performed include C-sections, inductions, AROM, IUPC, DFM, and Doppler monitoring. Ideal candidates will be compassionate, caring, friendly, patient, and solutions-oriented. Patient care experience is a priority. The unit employs self-scheduling, which is a significant staff satisfaction factor. Teamwork is emphasized, with nurses supporting each other to cover staffing needs. The leadership team is strong and supportive, offering assistance on the floor when necessary. Many staff members have extensive tenure, with 20-40 years of experience. A new OB Hospitalist program provides attending support to the residency program and nurses working triage.
