Founded in 1993, Oneida Air Systems designs and manufactures dust collection systems and products. From our Syracuse, New York headquarters, we help customers understand their options and choose equipment suited to their needs. Our customer-facing teams work closely with technical experts, engineering, manufacturing, and other departments to deliver knowledgeable service and dependable follow-through.

The role

You will guide customers from an initial inquiry through product selection, quotation, follow-up, and the buying decision. The work combines incoming opportunities with proactive outreach. You will manage your own customer records and follow-up activity while developing the technical knowledge to recommend appropriate dust collection solutions.

What you will do

• Respond quickly to inquiries and actively call prospective and existing customers to uncover needs, advance opportunities, and earn business.
• Ask focused questions about the customer’s application, priorities, budget, and timing; translate that information into an appropriate recommendation.
• Explain product capabilities, value, and relevant differences clearly. Learn where standard solutions fit and when to involve a systems or technical expert.
• Prepare accurate quotes, address questions and objections, ask for the order, and follow up consistently through a decision.
• Keep customer information, quote details, commitments, and next actions current in company systems; organize your opportunity pipeline and daily priorities.
• Coordinate order details and customer commitments with support and other departments. Share recurring customer questions and feedback with marketing and technical colleagues.
• Work toward agreed sales and activity goals, review results, and adjust your approach to improve conversion, customer experience, and profitable sales.

You initiate productive conversations, keep opportunities moving, and follow through without being chased. Customers trust your recommendations, records are accurate, and growing product knowledge translates into increasingly independent sales results.

What you bring

• Demonstrated success in a sales role, with examples of meeting goals, developing opportunities, and moving customers from interest to purchase.
• Confidence initiating calls, asking discovery questions, handling objections, and directly asking for business.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to work accurately across customer records, quoting or order systems, email, and other business software.
• Consistent note-taking, organization, and self-management. You can manage multiple opportunities and follow-up commitments without close supervision.
• Ability and willingness to learn technical products quickly, explain them clearly, and seek expert input when needed.
• Good listening, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach. You accept coaching and take responsibility for both sales results and the quality of your work.

Helpful experience

Inside sales, technical or consultative sales, and experience serving business or individual customers are especially relevant. Familiarity with CRM systems, equipment, tools, woodworking, or mechanical applications is helpful. Prior dust collection experience and a technical degree are not required.

Training and growth

You will learn Oneida’s products, applications, systems, and sales processes while beginning customer-facing work within your training and experience. We expect active participation, focused learning, and early contribution. Independence and the complexity of assigned opportunities will increase as you demonstrate readiness.

Compensation and benefits

Base pay: $22-30/hr.

We intend to support you in the learning and growth period as well as throughout your career with us. We are open to exploring additional incentive pay following a period of sustained success in that learning and growth period.
