Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / PCU & Medical-Surgical Telemetry – North Carolina

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45–07:15), 36 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Contract lengths of 13–26 weeks available. Float requirement to similar units as needed.

Highlights:

• Mixed acuity unit with PCU, telemetry, and medical-surgical patients (48-bed unit)
• Target nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 (may extend to 1:6 in extreme situations)
• Patient population includes COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, respiratory distress, COVID-19, influenza, pulmonary embolism, and chest tube management
• Experience with ventilators (chronic trach/vent patients), BiPAP/CPAP, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac drips
• EMR: EPIC; unit systems include Pyxis and SBAR
• Comprehensive unit support including Admission/Discharge nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager, Vascular Access Team, Respiratory Therapists, Rapid Response Team, Code Team, and Behavioral Health Team
• 24-hour orientation with block scheduling available when unit needs are met
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Current North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• IV start proficiency, ventilator experience, telemetry monitoring, and CPAP/BiPAP management
• Demonstrated ability in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Pre-start online modules (8–10 hours) must be completed using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
