The Opportunity

AM Glass Inc is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support commercial glazing, curtain wall, storefront, architectural metal, and panel projects throughout the New York City market. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, you'll help coordinate projects from kickoff through closeout, keeping submittals, shop drawings, purchase orders, material deliveries, schedules, change order documentation, and closeout requirements organized and moving forward.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of construction project coordination, project administration, or related experience who is ready to take on greater project responsibility and continue developing toward a Project Manager career path.

We're looking for someone who communicates clearly, follows through on deadlines, catches missing information, and understands that successful construction projects depend on keeping dozens of moving pieces organized.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Project Coordination & Administration
• Participate in project kickoff meetings and help organize project responsibilities, deadlines, documentation, and setup requirements
• Maintain accurate project information and documentation in Monday.com and OneDrive
• Support Project Managers across multiple active commercial construction projects
• Track project milestones, outstanding items, approvals, and internal responsibilities
• Maintain organized and accurate project records throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage multiple assigned projects and competing priorities while meeting internal and client deadlines
• Identify missing information, scheduling concerns, or approval delays and promptly escalate them to the Project Manager
• Submittals & Shop Drawings
• Assist with the complete submittal tracking process
• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain product data, samples, color samples, sample warranties, and other required documentation
• Prepare letters of transmittal and organize submittal packages for Project Manager review and submission
• Track shop drawing deadlines, review status, resubmissions, and final approvals
• Maintain accurate logs of submittal and shop drawing approvals
• Follow up on outstanding approvals and promptly communicate delays or missing information
• Help ensure approved information is properly documented and available to the appropriate project teams
• Scheduling, Purchasing & Material Coordination
• Help update project schedules covering submittals, approvals, material releases, fabrication, delivery, mobilization, and anticipated completion dates
• Track purchase orders and supplier delivery dates
• Follow up with suppliers to verify materials remain on schedule for project mobilization
• Communicate material schedule changes and special storage requirements to shop and field teams
• Help coordinate the flow of project information between Project Management, purchasing, fabrication, and field operations
• Identify potential material or delivery issues before they affect project schedules
• Change Orders & Project Documentation
• Assist with obtaining material pricing for potential change order work
• Help prepare and format change order documentation as requested by the Project Manager
• Maintain consistent change order tracking across assigned projects
• Organize supporting documentation and maintain accurate project records
• Help ensure changes are properly documented and communicated throughout the project
• Project Closeout
• Support Project Managers throughout the project closeout process
• Track outstanding punch-list items and document completed work
• Collect required warranties and closeout documentation
• Organize closeout packages for review and submission
• Follow up on outstanding documentation to help bring projects to an efficient and complete close

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 1–3 years of construction project coordination, project administration, Assistant Project Manager, or related experience preferred
• Ability to read and work with architectural drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general document-management software
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to accurately track multiple deadlines, approvals, documents, and project requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Consistent follow-through and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities
• Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
• Ability to maintain accurate project records and promptly escalate schedule, material, or approval concerns

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience within commercial glazing, glass, curtain wall, storefront, architectural metal, or panel systems
• Experience supporting commercial construction Project Managers
• Familiarity with Monday.com
• Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or AutoCAD
• Experience coordinating submittals and shop drawings
• Familiarity with purchase orders, material releases, supplier coordination, and construction scheduling
• Experience preparing or tracking construction change orders
• Understanding of commercial construction project closeout requirements
• Associate degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• Equivalent relevant construction industry experience will also be considered.

Work Schedule & Location

• This is a full-time, on-site position in New York City, working Monday through Friday.
• Occasional local travel to active project sites, suppliers, or AM Glass facilities may be required based on project needs.
