Job Summary Adjunct Education Faculty (Part‑Time) – Classroom and Behavioral Management for EDU 206 at Southside Virginia Community College. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering a hybrid course, ensuring high‑quality instruction and student engagement through Canvas LMS. Responsibilities Provide an overview of strategies for developing positive and inclusive learning environments. Emphasize practical methods for managing diverse student needs to promote academic success. Establish and communicate clear expectations for effective instruction. Deliver instruction in a hybrid format and maintain course materials aligned with college standards. Use the Canvas Learning Management System to engage students and manage the online portion. Monitor and document class attendance, maintain accurate records, and communicate with departments as needed. Qualifications Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams. Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments. Experience working with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds. Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the community college and student success. Preferred Qualifications Teaching experience at the college level, specifically with face‑to‑face and online/hybrid modalities. Competency using instructional technologies such as SMART boards, Zoom, and Canvas LMS. Experience working with community college students. Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and academic success. Schedule and Location Fall 2026 Semester (August 17 – December 15, 2026). Hybrid: in‑person on campus + online components. Class meeting: Tuesdays, 11:10 AM – 12:35 PM at John H. Daniel Campus – Keysville, VA. Compensation Pay per credit hour rate determined based on experience and education. No state or VCCS benefits.
