About the Role

The Company is seeking a General Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, with a primary focus on the negotiation, drafting, and review of various commercial contracts. This includes customer, supplier, inventor, service provider, and licensing agreements. The role also involves providing legal support for purchase agreements, conducting due diligence for potential acquisitions, and drafting merger and corporate governance documents. As the sole attorney in the legal department, the General Counsel will advise on commercial and governance issues, assist with litigation, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years experience as a business attorney, with a strong background in both law firm and in-house legal work. The ideal candidate will have a combination of experience in negotiating and drafting contracts, as well as handling mergers and acquisitions. A Texas bar license is required, and the company is currently considering local candidates only.
