Grant Project Coordinator

The Project Manager, under the direction of senior USC College of Arts and Sciences leadership, will manage all aspects of the NHA project, to include: conducting research on related organizations, contacting project partners, coordinating and conducting regional meetings with stakeholders including tribal entities. The Project Manager will collaborate with leadership of partnering organizations to develop short-term and long-range strategic goals for the Corridor, including the development of a Management Plan document. This position will collect and assemble information needed to respond to reporting requests from sponsoring organizations and media. The position will require some in-state and regional travel. The Assistant Editor would help transcribe probate records, edit AI generated transcriptions, and enter relevant data into the existing database and, in the process, help build the empirical infrastructure of the SHARE project. The position also requires some degree of public outreach, mainly with other institutions of higher education involved in the endeavor.

Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong vocabulary, spelling and grammar skills. Competency in Microsoft Office. Experience researching historical records and related information. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.

Work with the National Park Service project leadership to develop short-term and long-range strategic goals for the Southern Campaign of the American Revolution Historic Corridor. Substantial collaboration with an external consultant (to be named) to draft a Management Plan document in accordance with NPS requirements.

Conduct research on and outreach to related organizations contacting project partners, coordinating and conducting regional meetings with stakeholders including tribal entities. Track and report on project deliverables.

Managing SHARE (Southern History, Archives, Research, and Education) project records. Entering records into database. Developing systems to allow database to be searchable for future researchers.

With the co-director, teach, oversee student staff and assistant editor, as applicable.
