About the Position

Job Title: Radiologic Technologist - CT Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Computed Tomography Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4x10s Monday through Thursday Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: One year CT/MRI experience as a radiologic technologist required License: NYS license/registration required Certifications: A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or equivalent required Must-Have: GE or Toshiba CT experience Description: The radiologic technologist is responsible for performing radiographic examinations under the direction of departmental radiologists. The technologist will greet the patient and explain the examination they are about to undergo. They will position the patient and set the proper exposure factors to obtain the required quality radiograph. The technologist will practice appropriate radiation safety and protection to ensure that patients do not undergo undue radiation exposure. They will possess sufficient knowledge to operate imaging equipment efficiently and effectively to obtain quality studies. The technologist will report any equipment malfunctions to their immediate supervisor. They will also be responsible for processing films and inputting information into the Radiology Information System for documentation and billing purposes. This position requires following department procedures and protocols as defined in the Policy and Procedure Manual. The radiologic technologist will provide radiologic examinations based on the needs of the referring physician and radiologist.
