Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit for patients presenting with cardiac, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, infectious, pain-related, and unmanaged diabetic conditions
• Perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement — mandatory competency required for all RNs in this role
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; utilize telemetry monitors, EKG machines, lifepacks, and bladder scanners
• Manage oxygen delivery systems including nasal cannula, face masks, and portable oxygen tanks; apply non-invasive airway management techniques and maintain isolation precautions
• Collaborate with PCT staff (who perform vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADL support) and activate Rapid Response Teams as clinically indicated
• Float within scope to like units as needed, including ED boarders, stable ICU, medical surgical, and stable acute brain injury units

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license — must be in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Epic EMR experience is a hard requirement
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting
• Familiarity with peripheral line care and management, rapid response protocols, and isolation precaution procedures
• Experience with specialty equipment such as bladder scanners, lifepacks, and EKG machines
