About the Role:

To continue advancing the impact we have across the communities we serve, Commonpoint is hiring a Full-Time Education Coach within the Adult Workforce Department. The Adult Workforce Department provides employment and workforce development services to adult job seekers from diverse backgrounds, including individuals seeking to enter new careers, gain skills and achieve economic stability and growth.

The individual hired as a Full-Time Education Coach will coordinate and facilitate workforce development programs and training activities for adult job seekers preparing for careers in Direct Support Professional (DSP) and other in-demand fields. A portion of the role will focus on supporting DSP-related workforce training, while the remaining responsibilities will include coordinating and facilitating general professional development activities that build workplace readiness, career skills and support participants' success across a variety of career pathways.

This is an adult workforce development and training position and is not a DSP or direct-care position. The Education Coach will not provide direct care or support services to individuals with disabilities. The role focuses on workforce program coordination, training facilitation, participant engagement and preparing adult job seekers for employment.

The Education Coach will facilitate engaging workforce development activities in both in-person and virtual settings, support program and curriculum implementation, adapt training materials and resources and create a supportive and professional environment that encourages participant engagement and successful completion of workforce development activities.

Additional workforce development topics and activities may be assigned based on department and program needs, with appropriate training and support provided.

The Education Coach will share their time between our Bronx and Queens locations to support our program needs. We look for the ability to commute reliably to either site on assigned days, with some flexibility for occasional evening and Saturday hours.

This role reports directly to the Program Director.

Role Responsibilities:

Impact & Data Strategy:

• Coordinate and facilitate workforce development activities in hybrid (virtual and in-person) settings to prepare adult job seekers for employment success through DSP-related and general workforce readiness programming.
• Monitor participant attendance, engagement, participation and outcomes while maintaining accurate program documentation and case notes.
• Support participant recruitment, onboarding, retention and successful program completion.

Financial Stewardship:

• Support efficient program operations and compliance with program and reporting requirements.
• Contribute to strong participant retention and completion outcomes aligned with workforce development goals.

People & Talent Development:

• Facilitate workforce development workshops and training activities for diverse adult participants, including neurodivergent individuals.
• Provide coaching, feedback, resources and individualized support to help participants develop workforce skills and achieve employment goals.
• Promote an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages participant engagements.

Partnerships & External Relations:

• Support workforce training and career development initiatives aligned with industry needs.
• Represent Commonpoint professionally community and training partners.
• Travel between Bronx and Queens locations based on program and operational needs.

Cross-Department Collaboration & Communication:

• Collaborate with program staff to support high-quality program delivery and student success.
• Communicate regularly regarding participant attendance, progress and support needs.

Operations, Safety & Risk Management:

• Ensure compliance with program policies, procedures and reporting standards.
• Maintain organized records and effectively utilize virtual learning platforms and technology.

Qualifications & Key Attributes:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Healthcare or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years of experience in teaching or instructing adult learners, particularly in Direct Support Professional training, healthcare training or related workforce development.

Key Attributes for Adult Workforce Instructor Role:

• Experience managing classroom dynamics and creating a supportive learning environment.
• Strong ability to develop and adapt curriculum for diverse learners, including neurodivergent individuals.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and experience working with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.
• Comfortable using virtual learning platforms and technology.
• Experience creating PowerPoint and Canva presentations.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to document student progress through case notes and reports.

To maintain fairness across the organization, salary offers are set according to established salary bands and are not subject to negotiation. New hires typically start near the beginning of the salary range to allow for growth based on performance, professional development, and tenure.

Job Details:

• Annual Salary: $52,500 - $60,000.
• Non-Union Position.
