Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Rehabilitation Med/Surg unit in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Med/Surg experience and a valid KS or compact RN license.

Details

• 41-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit in Wichita, KS
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• Staffing mix includes RNs and LPNs across day and night shifts
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Equipment includes patient lifts, iSTAT, glucometer, and wound vac systems; administration of inhalers and breathing treatments is performed on the unit
• Telemetry patients are present; candidates must be able to pass an Airstrip telemetry competency
• EMR: Meditech

Requirements

• Active KS RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital Med/Surg experience
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include lab draws, IV antibiotics, IV medication administration, blood administration as needed, and head-to-toe assessments
• RNs assist in carrying out rehabilitation care plans established by an interdisciplinary team
• Patient and family education on care plans and rehabilitation programs is a key part of the role
• CRRN certification is preferred
• Knowledge of Quality Indicator scoring in a post-acute setting is preferred
• ACLS certification is preferred
