Registered Nurse (RN) - $6,000 Sign On Bonus

Overview Registered Nurse (RN) – Opportunity to earn a $6,000 sign‑on bonus and shift differential up to $5.00 per hour. We are seeking Registered Nurses to provide comprehensive healthcare to patients incarcerated in Fulton County Jail, Atlanta, GA. The role involves working with correctional officers and medical personnel in a secure environment, delivering physical assessments, medication administration, chronic illness management, and emergency response. New graduates are encouraged; training will be provided to help you succeed in correctional healthcare. Responsibilities Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals. Monitor and document patient health, including vital signs and medical histories. Provide direct patient care, triage, assess needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services. Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes. Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and ensure timely transfer to appropriate healthcare facilities. Educate patients on preventive care, healthy lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention. Adhere to correctional facility security protocols and collaborate with staff to ensure patient safety. Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and report relevant information. Qualifications Current, unrestricted RN license in Georgia. Active BLS CPR certification (AHA preferred). Knowledge of nursing practice, occupational health and safety, infectious disease management, healthcare laws, and regulations. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible schedule with availability for overtime. Integrity, professionalism, and compliance with facility policies and legal requirements. Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues. Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information. Must pass criminal background check and drug screening. Physical Capabilities Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform CPR and other physically demanding tasks while maintaining balance and endurance throughout a shift.
